Bertolt Brecht's and Kurt Weill's stylistic, provocative, and cynical musical The Threepenny Opera was the first production of the 1968 season. The large-scale cast included Peter Lutken as Macheath, Mark Capri and Sara Taubman as the Peachums, Pat Richardson as Polly, Jenny Burgess as Jenny, Christy Westerheim as Lucy Brown, and Gary Pearle as the Street Singer. The elaborate costumes, sets, props, and lighting matched the scale of the production.
