Printed twice a year as a companion piece to The ReMarker student newspaper, Focus magazine is a special interest publication that takes an in-depth look at a single topic. Past publications’ topics have included racial implications of the George Floyd death, gender identity, the endangered environment and family dynamics, among others.
In addition to allowing deeper exploration of complex issues, Focus is also crucial for sparking conversations on campus and introducing students to myriad points of view. Because its subjects are timely and relevant to its community, the publication offers readers an opportunity to share their viewpoints, hear opposing opinions and practice the very best of respectful civil discourse.
Focus has been honored with Pacemaker awards from the National Scholastic Press Association and the Gold Crown award from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association.
