Alumni Celebrate the Season

No matter when they graduated, St. Mark’s alumni share a common bond that leads back to 10600 Preston Road. This connection was especially evident at the Alumni Holiday Luncheon, where more than 120 graduates across six decades enjoyed an afternoon together at Arlington Hall.

“From record-breaking participation in the annual fund to the upcoming opening of the Zierk Athletic Center, we have a lot to be thankful for as members of the St. Mark’s community,” said Jamie Rogers ’85, Alumni Association President. “Your unwavering commitment to St. Mark's is what makes the Alumni Association unique, impactful, and a significant part of our School's legacy.”

Eugene McDermott Headmaster David W. Dini echoed Rogers’ gratitude for the School’s alumni and shared the impact their support has on campus.

“Thanks to you, so much of what was inherent in your St. Mark’s experience is present in the experiences of Marksmen who walk the halls today,” Dini said. “As we look over the horizon and toward the future, we’re inspired by the legacy we’ve inherited, of which you are all a great part.”

Finally, Dini welcomed Lukas Palys ’25 to provide a student perspective of life at 10600 Preston Road. An accomplished vocalist, Palys reflected on his first time performing in St. Mark’s Lessons & Carols and how the older choristers led and inspired him.

“I learned that leadership isn't about recognition or applause, but rather the quiet ways we inspire and uplift others,” Palys said. “I know each of you has someone you looked up to during your time at St. Mark's; a person who quietly supported you, pushed you to grow, or modeled excellence."

Palys ended the luncheon with a captivating performance of Halt by Schubert, accompanied by St. Mark’s choirmaster and organist Glenn Stroh.
