The senior class may have only a few weeks left in their St. Mark's career, but the men of the Class of 2018 have made a lasting impact on the spirit of life at 10600 Preston Road. This week, the Student Council announced the senior class as the first annual “Spirit Up” Champion and awarded them with the St. Mark’s High School Cup. Spearheaded by Student Council President Canyon Kyle ’18, the High School Cup competition challenges Marksmen to support one another and their School.
“My goal for this year was to find another way to bring the community together as one,” said Canyon Kyle. “After thinking about this, I realized that a competition was the perfect way to motivate students. This is what brought the High School Cup to life.”
Each week, the Student Council awarded points based on attendance and participation at School events. Through this competition, Upper Schoolers showed their character and leadership skills by continuously striving to support and encourage their fellow Marksmen. At the end of the year, the Class of 2018 had earned the most points and became the inaugural winners of the High School Cup.
“The more that each of us shows support for other Marksmen, the closer we become as a community,” Canyon said. “I hope that this Cup will continue to bring the students closer with each passing year and ensure that St. Mark’s continues to be a special place for each new Marksman.”
