On Friday, May 20, 2016, during the Senior/Alumni Luncheon, Senior Class President Philip Montgomery ’16 presented the Class of 2016’s Legacy Gift. The class unanimously participated in two initiatives, beginning with all 88 seniors pledging a total of $2,016 to the St. Mark’s Fund, to be completed over the next four years. Their important support of the St. Mark’s Fund ensures they are a part of the 50 percent legacy that our alumni have spent so much time and energy building. Secondly, the Senior Class pledged $25,000 to create a financial aid endowment that will help future graduating classes. The new Path to Manhood Scholarship will ensure the School remains accessible to every qualified boy, regardless of financial situation.
“St. Mark’s is so special because of the unique background of each student,” Philip said. “We want to create a tradition of seniors putting their extra money into the Fund to support out financial aid program. That way, every single alumnus feels a deep connection to furthering the mission of the School.”
Over the past two decades, each senior class has made a Legacy Gift at graduation, ensuring the long-term financial health of the School they love.
