Marksmen Named YoungArts Finalists

Two Marksmen have been named finalists in the 2015 YoungArts program: Ben Naftalis ’15 (woodworking) and Conner Olson ’15 (woodworking). As finalists, Ben and Conner will be invited to attend YoungArts Week in Miami, where they will join approximately 170 other participants to work with distinguished master teachers and mentors.

The National YoungArts Foundation was established in 1981 to identify and support the next generation of artists, and to contribute to the cultural vitality of the nation. YoungArts also serves as the exclusive nominating agency for the U.S. Presidential Scholars in the Arts, the country's highest honor for artistically talented high school seniors.

Additionally, four other Marksmen were named Merit Winners: Zac Houillion ’16 (ceramics), Mason Smith ’15 (photography), Matthew Meadows ’15 (woodworking), and Adam Merchant ’15 (photography). Recent graduate Harrison Lin ’14 again received Honorable Mention.
