School Hosts National Debate Tournament
More than five hundred students, coaches, and judges from over thirty states visited St. Mark’s over the weekend of October 18 to participate in the Heart of Texas Invitational Debate Tournament. The Lion debate team was hard at work over the weekend preparing the campus and hosting the tournament with many students working long into the weekend.
“The tournament is a series of learning moments for our students,” St. Mark’s Debate Coach Tim Mahoney said. “One of the things I enjoy about hosting the tournament is the opportunity to show off our campus. The vast majority of our attendees leave with a real sense of what a fantastic place St. Mark’s is.”
