Student Publications Named Pacemaker Finalists

The 2012 Marksmen yearbook and The Marque literary magazine have each been named a finalist for the Pacemaker Award by the National Scholastic Press Association, the highest award given by the national organization. The Marksmen joins 49 other yearbooks from around the country as Pacemaker finalists. The Marque is also one of only two literary magazines in the state of Texas to be nominated.

The winners will be announced at the NSPA's spring convention in San Francisco in April.

The editor of the Marksmen was Duncan Smart '12. The yearbook is overseen by faculty adviser Ray Westbrook, Gene & Alice Oltrogge Master Teaching Chair.

The editors-in-chief of The Marque were Rishi Bandopadhay and Patrick Ng. The magazine is overseen by Lynne Weber, Trustee Master Teacher.
