On December 17, 2012, The ReMarker student newspaper, the Marksmen yearbook, and the Marque literary magazine were named as finalists in the 2012 Crown awards, organized by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association.
Often referred to as the Super Bowl of student publications, the CSPA take more than 1,300 submissions from across the country and judges writing, editing, coverage, editorial leadership, design, graphics, artwork, and photography.
St. Mark's is no stranger to Crown success. This is the Marksmen yearbook's fifth consecutive Crown designation and its eighth in ten years. The ReMarker student newspaper received its tenth consecutive Crown designation and holds the CSPA's record for longest winning streak. The Marque literary magazine received its second finalist designation in as many years.
From here, the publications will continue to a second round of competition for either a Silver Crown or a Gold Crown, the CSPA's highest honor. The winners will be announced in March, 2013, at the CSPA's annual convention in New York.
