Instructor to Lead Scholastic Press Association

Journalism instructor Jenny Dial Creech was elected to serve as president of the Columbia Scholastic Press Advisors’ Association (CSPAA) at the annual convention of the Columbia Scholastic Press Association in New York on March 17.

In this position, Creech will be in charge of all CSPAA activities and will assist CSPA officials in convention coordination, scholastic journalism priorities, and membership management.

“I’ve been working with CSPA for two decades and hold this organization in great regard,” Creech said.  “I am honored to take on the role of president for the CSPA Advisers and to work with the talented members of this group all over the country. In addition, I am excited to continue Ray (Westbrook’s) legacy by keeping St. Mark’s involved in this organization, one which is so important to scholastic journalism."

Creech advises The ReMarker student newspaper, the Marksmen yearbook and Focus special interest magazine. This is her first year here, having worked previously as a sports journalist and editor for The Athletic online sports magazine and the Houston Chronicle.
