St. Mark’s is a vibrant and rigorous community. Upper School Marksmen are encouraged to actively participate in the multitude of opportunities offered on campus. Student Council, athletic teams, the fine arts, campus publications, Lion and Sword Society, and the Community Service Board are some of the ways boys may explore their interests and deepen their passions. As students navigate daily life, they engage with communities both on and off campus, leading to a sense of fulfillment on their path to manhood. We celebrate the boys in their successes, encourage them when they are faced with challenges, and push them to explore the limits of their capabilities in all their endeavors.
The relationships built at St. Mark’s will be impactful beyond each student’s time on campus. These relationships deepen between faculty and students when we engage in lively classroom discussion and spontaneous conversations across campus. As Upper School students, boys have the opportunity to mentor younger Marksmen on character and leadership. Our campus life is strongest when boys of all ages are laughing, talking, playing, and enjoying the journey together.
St. Mark’s develops boys into men of character. The path to manhood is never perfect, and boys are led through the learning process by adults who have genuine care and concern for their development and well-being. St. Mark’s is a place where boys are supported and empowered to become the best possible version of themselves. We are committed to preparing boys for college and for leadership in a competitive world. The school’s core mission and values are the foundation of this process. Marksmen learn the value of choosing a path that challenges them and leads to hard-won satisfaction. They take ownership of their actions and respect the views of others. And they grow into life-long learners, who see the world through the eyes of a servant leader.
As a Marksman, it is my honor to help guide each student on his path.
