Seniors Named YoungArts Finalists

Two Marksmen have been named finalists in the 2017 YoungArts program in the category of Design Arts: Christian McClain ’17 and Hyer Thomas ’17. As finalists, Christian and Hyer are invited to attend YoungArts Week in Miami during the week of January 9, where they will join the other national finalists to work with distinguished master teachers and mentors.

The National YoungArts Foundation was established in 1981 to identify and support the next generation of artists, and to contribute to the cultural vitality of the nation. YoungArts also serves as the exclusive nominating agency for the U.S. Presidential Scholars in the Arts, the country's highest honor for artistically talented high school seniors.

Additionally, Adam Subel ’17 was named a Merit Winner in Design Arts, and Andrew Chuka ’17 and Brian Buckenham ’17 received Honorable Mention in Visual Arts.
