The Centennial Challenge Passes $108 million

On Tuesday, May 7, at the annual Trustees Dinner, Board President Randall Fojtasek '81 announced to the crowd of more than 125 current and former Board members that The Centennial Challenge has passed the $108 million mark toward its ultimate goal of $110 million. Less than two months remain in the School's largest fundraising initiative that has elicited an incredible out pouring of support from the entire St. Mark's community.

Approximately 1,100 volunteers and more than 6,000 donors have moved this historic campaign forward to ensure continued excellence at 10600 Preston Road. Already, funds from the Campaign have transformed our campus, expanded and enhanced academic and co-curricular programs, bolstered funding for our outstanding faculty, and increased financial aid.

The Dinner also recognized six retiring Trustees who have collectively given 62 years of dedicated service to St. Mark’s as members of the Board of Trustees. Harry Quarls, Scott Kimple ’84, Richard Ramirez, Kevin Wiggins, Helene Rudberg, and Charies Nearburg ’68 were all in attendance as the Committee on Trustees Chair, Jon Mosle ’79, took time to individually recognize and thank each of these Board members for their extraordinary service to St. Mark’s.

As the evening drew to a close, Mr. Fojtasek also celebrated the 20 years of service given to St. Mark's by Eugene McDermott Headmaster Arnold E. Holtberg and his wife Jan for their unwavering leadership and dedication to The Centennial Challenge.
