Student Named Journalist of the Year
Daniel Hersh ’13, editor-in-chief of the student newspaper The ReMarker, was ranked third in the nation for the Journalism Education Association's Journalist of the Year competition. Daniel advanced to the national level after being named the top journalist in Texas. He is the first Marksman to receive this honor.
While Daniel is proud of this well-earned achievement, he was also quick to point out that the newspaper is a collaborative effort and his award is as much a testament to his classmates' effort as it is to his own.
The JEA is the largest scholastic journalism organization for teacher and advisors, made up of more than 2,500 educators and media professionals.
