Last year’s ReMarker newspaper and the 2010 Marksmen yearbook have been named as Crown finalists, the highest award given, by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA), the organization announced Dec. 15.
This is the eighth consecutive year that The ReMarker has been named a finalist for the Crown. For the past seven years, the publication has won the most prestigious designation given by CSPA, the Gold Crown — the longest successive streak by a secondary school in the history of the organization.
Crown finalists will learn in March whether they earn Gold or Silver Crown distinctions.
For the Marksmen, this is the seventh Crown designation in eight years. Both the 2008 and 2009 editions of the Marksmen were named Gold Crown winners.
