St. Mark’s recently announced the appointment of two highly experienced college admission officers to the College Counseling team. We are excited to welcome Phoebe Kingsak from New York University and Josh Shandera from the University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business. These two experienced professionals will join veteran Director of College Counseling, Veronica Guzman Pulido, and increase the size and capability of our College Counseling team.
“We are incredibly excited about the depth and breadth of experience that Phoebe and Josh will bring to St. Mark’s, coming from selective institutions where many Marksmen matriculate. They will add substantive experience and bring a genuine commitment to serving our boys with thoughtful guidance while developing strong relationships across campus. And, we are excited about growing our team to meet the needs of current and future generations of Marksmen,” said Eugene McDermott Headmaster David Dini.
Phoebe Kingsak will join St. Mark’s as Associate Director of College Counseling effective July 1. A native of the Dallas area, Phoebe earned her bachelor’s degree from NYU and her master’s degree from Columbia University. She is currently finishing a second master’s degree from NYU. She has served as the Senior Assistant Director of Admissions in the Undergraduate Admissions Office at NYU since 2015, where she has supported undergraduate admissions, first-year and transfer students to the Tandon School of Engineering, and the NYU Scholars Program. Phoebe also worked in the Admissions Office at Pace University.
Josh Shandera will join St. Mark’s on June 1 as Associate Director of College Counseling. A native of San Antonio, Josh earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin before joining the UT-Austin Admission staff. During his tenure in UT admissions, Josh has served in a variety of roles, with ever increasing responsibility, mostly recently as Admissions and Recruitment Coordinator for the Canfield Business Honors Program in the McCombs School of Business. He also attended an all-boys high school in San Antonio and has worked with Marksmen over time who have matriculated to the University of Texas.
We look forward to welcoming Phoebe and Josh who will join us full-time this summer.
