    Julie Pechersky currently serves as director of academic success in the Marksman Wellness Center after joining the St. Mark’s faculty in 2013. Mom to Will ‘‘22, she earned a B.S. from the University of Texas at Austin, an M.Ed. from the University of Houston and an educational diagnostician certification from the University of North Texas. Previously, Pechersky served as an educational diagnostician both in the Richardson Independent School District and through private practice. Prior to that time, she was a classroom teacher for several years in the Houston and Dallas areas. Pechersky received a special award in 2022 from St. Mark’s.

    In his position as director of Civic Responsibility, Dr. John Perryman is a member of both the History and Social Sciences Department and the English Department where he teaches courses in sophomore English, AP history and the highly popular senior elective, “A 100-year partnership: A history of St. Mark’s and the City of Dallas.” He joined the School in 2009 and previously served as assistant head of the Upper School. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Williams College and both a master’s degree and a doctorate from the University of Texas at Dallas. He was the recipient of the Marksmen yearbook dedication in 2016.

    Dwight Phillips began his St. Mark’s career in 2000 as a member of the Physical Education Department. His previous teaching experience was at Greenhill School in Addison and at All-Saints School of Lubbock. Phillips received his undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University in exercise and sport sciences. While a Red Raider, he was a member of the varsity basketball team. In addition to his teaching duties, he coaches Middle School volleyball, basketball and track & field, and serves as an Upper School advisor. A towering figure on campus, Phillips was named recipient of the Ralph B. Rogers Alumni Award in 2014 and received the dedication of the Marksmen yearbook in 2022.

    A Lower School faculty member since 1997, Laura Pigg is a second grade teacher. She earned a B.A. from Hardin-Simmons University. Before joining St. Mark’s, Pigg taught for 14 years in kindergarten, first-grade and second grade in both private and public schools.

    Courtney Poglitsch currently serves as Middle School administrative assistant after coming to St. Mark’s in 2022. She earned both a bachelor’s of business administration degree and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to joining St. Mark’s, Poglitsch worked in various marketing roles at Highland Homes, Nortel and the law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell.

    Amy Pool joined the St. Mark’s faculty in 2011 and is the first holder of the Sally & Edward Genecov Master Teaching Chair. Pool earned a Bachelor of Science in mathematics degree from Portland State University and a Master’s of Science in mathematics from Portland State University. Pool started her teaching career at Portland State University as an adjunct professor, after which she spent ten years at Northwest Academy in Portland, OR. Since then, she has taught at Gonzaga University and Collin College and is an AP reader for calculus. Pool co-sponsors the Upper School Math Team and has served as a junior-senior class sponsor. She received the John H. Murrell Excellence in Teaching Award in 2013.

    Virginia Puckett has been a member of the Office of Development & Alumni Relations since 2022. She currently serves as St. Mark’s Fund coordinator. Puckett earned both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s in education from Texas Christian University. Prior to joining St. Mark’s, she was a first grade teacher and curriculum writer in Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD.

    Consuelo Puerto joined the St. Mark’s faculty in 2011. She received her degree in Pedagogy from the Universidad Femenina de México, her native country. Before coming to St. Mark’s, Ms. Puerto worked at the Mexican Consulate in Dallas and taught Spanish at various private institutions in Dallas. Ms. Puerto teaches Spanish in the Middle and Upper Schools, is a fifth-grade advisor, and serves as one of the leaders of the Costa Rica summer program.

    Veronica Pulido has been a member of the St. Mark’s community since 2002 and serves as the Al G. Hill, Jr. ’63 Director of College Counseling. Mom to Tobias ‘27, she earned a B.A. and an M.S. from the University of Notre Dame. Prior to St. Mark’s, Pulido served as assistant director of admissions at the University of Notre Dame and assistant director of admissions at Duke University. She volunteers as head college counselor for the Brewer Future Leaders Program assisting DISD students with the college process. Pulido is a member of the Texas Association of College Admission Counseling and the National Association of College Admission Counseling.
