NBA Dreams Fulfilled

Harrison Ingram ’21 was selected by the San Antonio Spurs as the 48th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.

“I am so incredibly proud of Harrison and all the tireless hours he and his family devoted in preparation for this day,” said Greg Guiler, head varsity basketball coach. “Harrison Ingram will no doubt inspire generations of future Marksmen to believe that the loftiest of goals are attainable.”

After joining St. Mark’s in fourth grade, Harrison’s natural ability and talent began to shine. He led St. Mark’s basketball team as a four-year varsity starter. His junior season kicked off just weeks after the 2019 tornado destroyed Hicks Athletic Center. Undeterred, the Lions would go on to win the 2020 SPC Basketball Championship. Harrison finished his high school career with 1,507 points and was recognized as one of 24 McDonald’s All-Americans in the nation.

A five-star college recruit, Harrison spent two years playing for Stanford University, where he was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Year. He then transferred to the University of North Carolina where he helped the Tar Heels earn a #1 seed in this year’s NCAA Tournament. Harrison also represented the United States at the 2021 FIBA U19 World Cup in Latvia, where he earned a gold medal with the team.

The 2024 NBA Draft is the culmination of a journey that Harrison started at St. Mark’s. As Coach Guiler recalls, “I remember sitting in my office with Harrison and his dad almost seven years ago and discussing the pathway to potentially being drafted into the NBA. To think that he has taken the necessary steps to make that dream a reality is simply astounding!”

The Ingram family has been deeply invested in St. Mark’s since they joined the community in 2010. Harrison’s brother, Will, graduated in 2017 and played basketball at Middlebury College before returning to Dallas. Their mother, Vera, served on St. Mark’s Board of Trustees from 2013-2022.
