Mr. Douglas Rummel

 Doug Rummel teaches 8th grade physical science and Information Engineering for juniors and seniors. He joined St. Mark’s in 1998 after nearly a decade teaching 8th grade at the Greenhill School in Addison, Texas. He received his M.A.T. in Science Education from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1988 while working as adjunct faculty in Biology at Brookhaven Community College. Doug received his B.S. in General Science from Oregon State University in 1983. Doug was one of the high school teachers chosen to help develop a high school introductory engineering curriculum for the Infinity Project, a joint venture between SMU, Texas Instruments, and the National Science Foundation. He is an Instructor Trainer for the program which uses digital signal processors to explain the basics of audio, video, and computer networks to high schoolers around the nation. Doug also works with the robotics teams at St. Mark’s and teaches Biology Summer Camp. A native of Oregon, Doug has been married to his wife Kerrin, a lead mechanical engineer at Raytheon, for twenty years. They have two children, Jason and Shannon.
His outside interests are gardening, camping, fishing, and, as of this year, snowboarding.
